Patient FAQs
The need for fertility treatment is common. People may pursue it for many different reasons, including infertility, LGBTQ family building, single parenthood by choice, fertility preservation (e.g., egg, embryo, and sperm freezing), and genetic conditions.
The fertility treatment process is different for every individual or couple. However, each cycle typically requires numerous appointments, often with little advance notice and inflexible timing. Multiple cycles can be required, sometimes over a period of months or years.
Sundial provides an innovative way for patients to receive certain elements of their fertility care at a more convenient location. Exact services will vary for every individual, but the approach to providing care at or near the workplace aims to make the demands of fertility treatment much more manageable, without any changes to the medical care received
- Sundial provides services to anyone who is undergoing a fertility evaluation, or fertility treatment of any kind, including egg freezing, intra-uterine insemination (IUI), in-vitro fertilization (IVF), and frozen embryo transfer.
- Sundial provides ultrasounds and blood draws. The specific type of ultrasound and blood test that you need are ordered by your doctor and sent to Sundial to perform.
- At some locations, Sundial also provides secure pick-up of semen samples for analysis at the fertility center.
Sundial is a convenient extension of a collaborating fertility center’s world-class healthcare. With Sundial’s services, there is no change to your medical care, only the location of your ultrasound and blood draw appointments.
- Once you are a patient at a collaborating fertility center, let your care team know that you would like to use a Sundial location for appointments.
- Conveniently schedule your appointments through the Sundial Health Portal™ app.
- A Sundial sonographer and phlebotomist complete your ultrasound and blood draw appointments at a Sundial location at or near your workplace.
- Sundial’s operations are discreet and prioritize privacy.
- Appointments take less time than a visit to the clinic; commute and wait times are dramatically reduced and there is no additional wait time between the ultrasound and blood draw.
- All ultrasound and blood draw results are returned to your fertility center where your physicians review results and make all patient care decisions.
At Sundial, the privacy and discretion of your appointment is a priority. We use numerous approaches to ensure all appointments are conducted with utmost confidentiality at or near your workplace. Furthermore, with Sundial’s convenient locations and time savings, you no longer have to explain as many recurring absences to colleagues, so you can pursue fertility treatments more privately if you choose.
Sundial prioritizes discretion and privacy in every aspect of our care. To ensure that appointments are discreet:
- Our team members keep equipment discreetly packaged and unbranded and wear professional clothing to blend into the workplace environment.
- Appointment locations are thoughtfully pre-determined to maximize discretion.
- We carefully space out appointments at the workplace to prevent overlapping with colleagues.
- Time savings mean colleagues are less likely to notice your recurring appointments, so you do not have to disclose the reason for them.
- We uphold a strict confidentiality policy, which means we do not report names of employees who use Sundial to HR departments if the employer offers Sundial’s employee benefit.
